The Need

Gatton Park is one of Lexington's newest green spaces built right in the heart of downtown. While the park has been years in the making, many locals weren't aware of all of the amazing features the park would offer or when it would be open to the public. In the months leading up to the grand opening, the Gatton Park team was in search for a marketing team that could set the park up for success and get the whole city on board through advertising and a digital presence.

The Solution

Our goal was to maximize the reach of the park's budget with strategically placed advertising across the city of Lexington, KY and digitally to a regional audience. Through our graphic design services, we designed cohesive marketing and promotional materials for the blitz leading up to the grand opening. Designs included posters, yard signs, banners, flags, billboards, digital ads, and more.

In collaboration with the Gatton Park team, we placed billboards, large banners, and more all throughout the city with their signature teal branding leading the way. Online, locals saw display, Meta, and YouTube ads teaching them about the park and urging them to save the date for the grand opening.

Our multifaceted approach yielded exceptional brand awareness that has lasted well beyond the grand opening event. We're proud to have been a part of this major milestone for the city of Lexington and we can't wait to see all of the successes of Gatton Park on the Town Branch. Be sure to visit Gatton Park when you're in town!

Digital Advertising Blitz

When we first partnered with Gatton Park, digital advertising was new territory for their team. Their goal was simple but ambitious: spread the word about the new park and draw a massive crowd to the Grand Opening.

We built a full-funnel digital strategy designed to maximize awareness and drive real action. Using a mix of Meta, YouTube, and Google Display ads, we reached Fayette County and surrounding areas with engaging creative that showcased the park’s vision, amenities, and community impact.

The result? Brand awareness, high engagement, and a packed house on opening day.

Taking social media by storm

When we first started working with Gatton Park, they were present on social media but lacked the strategy and consistency needed to get in front of the right audience. Through working with us, we took the creative workload off of their plates from designing graphics and filming content to developing the optimal posting cadence.

In the months leading up to the park opening, we collaborated with park leaders and partners to make sure Gatton Park was the topic of conversation in Lexington, KY and the surrounding areas. With a mix of strategic storytelling, stunning visuals, and engaging updates, we built excitement that carried through to opening day. We were thrilled with the turnout and are proud of our continued partnership with the park. Check out some of the highlights from the 90 days leading up to the event and one week after the event.

Traditional Advertising

To make sure the Gatton Park Grand Opening became a citywide conversation, we paired our digital strategy with a robust traditional advertising campaign that blanketed Lexington and surrounding areas.

The Bolt Marketing team designed and strategically placed 20 poster-sized billboards across high-traffic locations in and around Lexington, building anticipation and keeping the event top-of-mind for families, community members, and local leaders. In addition to large-format placements, we created a full suite of printed promotional materials, including yard signs, flags, and building banners to ensure consistent visibility across every touchpoint.

One of the most impactful pieces of the campaign was our collaboration with the City of Lexington. Together, we lined Main Street with custom Gatton Park flags, creating a clear visual pathway straight to the new park. This citywide activation built awareness for the park and brought in Lexingtonians to the grand opening.

From design to placement, our traditional advertising approach made Gatton Park impossible to miss. By combining bold visuals, strategic locations, and cohesive messaging, we helped build momentum and drive thousands of local residents to the Grand Opening.
